The Troy Trojans are in a little better shape than many of their opponents, at least when it comes to spring football practice.
The Trojans were able to get in five of 15 spring practices prior to all of college athletics being put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Like everyone else, however, Troy’s team and coaches were caught off-guard when tournaments, practices and entire seasons began to be canceled or postponed indefinitely two weeks ago.
“We started very early this year compared to normal years, the last week of February,” Troy coach Chip Lindsey said Monday in an interview with me and Randy Kennedy on Mobile’s SportsTalk 99.
