Maryland kicker and Cedar Crest graduate Chad Ryland was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Ryland was the 112th overall pick of the draft. Five picks later, the Patriots selected Ryland's former teammate at Eastern Michigan, offensive lineman Sidy Sow.
Ryland was a preferred walk-on at Eastern Michigan in 2018, becoming the Eagles' all-time leading scorer, before he transferred to Maryland for his final year of eligibility.
