They haven’t played a game yet, but Cam Newton says he and the New England Patriots, led by future Hall of Fame coach Bill Belichick, are a “match made in heaven.”
Skeptics questioned whether Belichick’s coaching style would mesh with Newton’s personality; Newton signed with New England, which lost Tom Brady in free agency this offseason, in July and is expected to be the starter when the season kicks off this week.
Newton, speaking on Boston sports radio WEEI’s “Greg Hill Show” Monday morning, initially wanted to know if Belichick’s gruff exterior lived up to reputation.
