ORCHARD PARK - When New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo met with reporters Wednesday, he said something that really stood out as an indictment on where the AFC East’s last-place team is at this moment in its rebuild.
He had said following the Patriots’ 30-17 loss last Sunday to the Cardinals that, “We all have to take accountability” and that, “accountability is all about going out and correcting it; it’s about action.”
So when he was asked Wednesday if that “action” meant players should be taken out of games if they keep making the same mistakes over and over, which has been the case far too much in New England this season, Mayo said, “I think you would always love to be able to, if a guy makes a mistake, you pull him to the sideline and go on from there.
