Just 17 months after investing the first overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft in him, the Carolina Panthers have decided to bench starting quarterback Bryce Young. Head coach Dave Canales informed his team of the move on Monday, as first reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Young arriving in Carolina was the result of a major trade. The Panthers sent wide receiver D.J. Moore as well as two first- and two second-round draft picks to the Chicago Bears to move up to No. 1 overall and select the highly-touted Alabama product.
