Brian Tyms' shoulder didn't suffer any major damage

Patriots wide receiver Brian Tyms has received some promising news.

After getting carted off the practice field yesterday with a shoulder injury, tests revealed no serious damage, and he could be back on the field this preseason.

Tyms is competing to make the team along with Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce and Brandon Gibson, so an extended absence would obviously hurt his chances to move up the depth chart, especially with Dobson and Boyce playing well early in camp.

Tyms went down during a one-on-one tackling drill and remained on his back for 5-10 minutes while the drill went on around him.
