ATLANTA – He has the most famous sideline shout in New England history and Sunday he’ll patrol the Patriots sideline for the final time.
Brian Flores hollered “Malcolm, go!’’ to Malcolm Butler moments before the rookie cornerback clinched the Super Bowl XLIX victory over the Seahawks in 2015 and the video clip made him part of the dynasty’s lore.
Flores, the Patriots’ defensive play caller this season, will fly to South Florida Monday to finalize a deal to become the Dolphins new head coach, according to multiple reports, including the Miami Herald and ESPN.
The move was expected after Flores interviewed for the position during New England’s bye weeks before their playoff opener and Sunday’s Super Bowl.
