Brian Flores called the defensive plays for the Patriots in their Super Bowl victory. After Flores limited one of the NFL’s top offenses to a paltry three points, the Miami Dolphins announced that he’d made the call to become their next head coach.
The 37-year-old, who has never held a coordinator title, noted he hadn’t been in a hurry to take the reins in a top role.
“I’m humbled. I’m grateful. This isn’t — I wasn’t in a rush to become a head coach,” Flores said. “I really wasn’t. I had a good job in New England.
