After the New England Patriots decision to part ways with Bill Belichick this past offseason, new head coach Jerod Mayo extended offers to Belichick’s sons, Steve and Brian, to remain on the coaching staff.
While Steve ultimately decided to try something new as he accepted the defensive coordinator position at the University of Washington, Brian decided to remain in New England as part of Mayo’s staff.
“He’s been fantastic,” Mayo said Wednesday. “There are other guys in the organization that it has been a little awkward for him, and those guys have handled it the right way.
