Over the first two years of his NFL career, Brenden Schooler has played a grand total of two defensive snaps. A core special teamer — as evidenced by 737 snaps in the game’s third phase — he was a safety in name only.
Heading into 2024, it seems that change might be on the horizon for the 27-year-old. After all, Schooler has been heavily involved with the New England Patriots’ defense so far in training camp, oftentimes even lining up with the starters around fellow safeties Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers.
Schooler has welcomed his increase in defensive practice reps.
