The New England Patriots’ offense produced one of its weakest games of the season on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers and one of the biggest questions in the aftermath was the usage of wide receiver Josh Gordon: quarterback Tom Brady threw only one pass in the direction of the talented wideout who has had tremendous success against the Steelers in the past. Now, it looks as if Brady will need to get used to not targeting Gordon.
As the wide receiver announced via social media earlier today, he is taking a temporarily leave from the game:
This is obviously big news for the Patriots as Josh Gordon has been one of the team’s top two wide receivers ever since the club acquired him via trade from the Cleveland Browns in late September.
