According to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, Patriots center David Andrews has been hospitalized with a blood clot in his lung, and his 2019 season could be in jeopardy. Howe also added that, at a minimum, the team captain is expected to miss a significant amount of time.
This, of course, thrusts the starting center job onto the shoulders of fourth-year interior offensive lineman Ted Karras.
Karras — the 221st pick in the sixth round of the 2016 draft — has served as the primary reserve interior lineman for the Patriots for the past three seasons, making five starts in the process.
