Bill Belichick has spent the past week preparing for all possibilities because, with the exception of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the list of his team’s playoff possibilities is endless. But which is best for the crippled Patriots?
Belichick will tell you it doesn’t matter and in some ways he’s correct because in the playoffs you’re good enough — and more importantly healthy enough — or you’re not. It’s not so much about your opponent as it is about you.
Having said that, there are always matchups that favor you and others that don’t, especially for a team that enters the playoffs having lost four of its last six and barely resembles the one it was three months ago.
