BNOTD: Patriots Place WR Aaron Dobson on Injured Reserve; Sign DB Dewey McDonald

New England's wide receiver depth chart gets thinner and thinner...

Two weeks ago, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman broke his foot and is expected to be sidelined until the playoffs. In his absence, the rest of the team's receiving corps needs to step up to soften the blow. One of those players supposed to step up was third-year player Aaron Dobson.

Alas, he won't, because his season ended on Monday, when he suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Buffalo Bills. Today, the Patriots have announced that they have officially placed the third-year wide receiver on injured reserve:

The New England Patriots announced that they have signed DB Dewey McDonald to the 53-man roster.
