Bills hire former Patriots tight ends coach Brian Daboll to be offensive coordinator

The Buffalo Bills added Brian Daboll to their staff as offensive coordinator, according to a team release. Daboll spent one season as the University of Alabama’s offensive coordinator with head coach Nick Saban, an acolyte of Bill Belichick, as they won a national championship.

Daboll previously served on the Patriots coaching staff from 2000-06 and left to join Eric Mangini’s staff as a quarterbacks coach for the New York Jets after being passed over for New England’s offensive coordinator position by Josh McDaniels.

Daboll then served as the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator from 2009-10, the Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator in 2011, and the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator in 2012.
