Before Sean McDermott arrived in Buffalo in 2017, the Bills had gone 18 years without reaching the playoffs — the longest drought in the NFL. Since then, however, he led the club to the postseason twice in three years: Buffalo exited in the wild card round both 2017 and 2019, but established itself as a serious contender behind one of the league’s better defenses and an above-average coaching staff led by McDermott.
Due to his recent success and the fact that he has already become Buffalo’s most successful head coach since Hall of Famer Marv Levy in the mid-1990s, the organization recently decided to add four more years to his contract as was announced on Wednesday.
