Bill Belichick made a statement at Gillette Stadium on Thursday announcing that he and Patriots owner Robert Kraft have reached a mutual agreement to part ways.
“At this time, we’re going to move on. But, I’m very excited for the future,” Belichick said.
Belichick stood on the stage next to Kraft, with both men taking turns at a podium. Kraft said both sides agreed to part “amicably.”
“I think it’s safe to say we exceeded (our expectations), thanks to you,” Kraft told Belichick.
Kraft said that this is an emotional day both for him and Patriots fans as it represents the end of an era.
