DENVER - Bill Belichick took the opportunity to use Rob Gronkowski’s near-touchdown catch in Sunday night’s blowout win against Denver as one of the latest examples for why goal-line cameras could help the NFL’s replay system, and ensure all the best angles to review plays.
Belichick, who has strongly advocated for the use of goal-line cameras for many years, opted to challenge the second quarter play, where the Patriots tight end dove, extended his hands and cradled the ball inches away from the ground before reaching the endzone. The call was an incomplete pass because officials believed the ball had touched the ground.
