FOXBORO — The Patriots won an exciting, bruising game against a ket AFC East opponent today, but you might now know it from listening to Bill Belichick.
“It definitely wasn’t our best performance,” Belichick said after a 30-23 victory over the Jets. “But in the end we were able to make the plays we needed to make.”
The Patriots trailed the Jets 17-16 entering the fourth quarter, but Tom Brady engineered two touchdown drives down the stretch to overcome their rivals.
New England improved to 6-0 while the Jets fell to 4-2.
Jets receiver Brandon Marshall dropped a would-be touchdown in the corner of the end zone that helped change the tenor of the game early in the fourth quarter.
