A day after one of the deadliest attacks on journalists in American history, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick offered his condolences to those affected by the shooting that left five dead at the Capital Gazette newspaper, which he called “my hometown newspaper.’’
“For my entire life, The Capital has been my hometown newspaper,” Belichick said in a statement posted to the team’s Twitter account. “My family and I have enjoyed special relationships with many great people who have worked for the newspaper. My heart goes out to the victims, their families and the entire Annapolis community for this terrible and senseless tragedy.
