FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick poked a little fun at himself Wednesday when asked about the team bringing free-agent tight end Joseph Fauria in for a workout this week.
Fauria is the nephew of former Patriots tight end Christian Fauria, who played for the Patriots from 2002 to 2005 and is now a sports radio host on WEEI in Boston.
Asked if there is any part of the experience that is fun for him in connecting the Faurias (Joseph is joining the team's practice squad), Belichick smiled.
"It's a sign of my age," Belichick cracked, before pointing out that practice squad receiver Austin Hill's father, David, was on the Lions when Belichick was an assistant there in 1976-77.
