Bengals planning to franchise-tag potential Patriots free agency target Tee Higgins, per report

Tee Higgins, arguably the top wide receiver in this year’s free agency and a potential target for the New England Patriots, is not expected to enter the open market after all.

The Cincinnati Bengals are planning to use the non-exclusive franchise tag on him for a second straight offseason. James Rapien of Sports Illustrated was first to report the news.

Higgins, 26, entered the league as a second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. After catching 257 passes for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first four seasons as a Bengal, the organization employed the $21.
