Ben Johnson, who at one point in the process virtually interviewed with the New England Patriots, has found a new job. The Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator will join the NFC North rival Chicago Bears as their next head coach.
Johnson, 38, was one of the hottest names on the market this coaching cycle, interviewing with multiple teams — including the Patriots. He eventually missed out on that position when New England ended up hiring Mike Vrabel in an unsurprising move, but he still had plenty of suitors.
The Bears emerged victorious among them, which means that he will now team up with quarterback Caleb Williams.
