If quarterback Cam Newton played his final game with the New England Patriots on Sunday, the former Auburn All-American made it one to remember at the end of a season to forget.
In replacing Tom Brady as the New England QB, Newton has been on hand as the Patriots’ streaks of 11 playoff seasons and 19 winning records ended.
But as his one-year contract with New England came to a close, Newton delivered a 28-14 victory over the New York Jets on the final Sunday of the NFL’s 2020 regular season.
Newton completed 21-of-30 passes for 242 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and ran for 79 yards on 11 carries.
