Armon Watts is no stranger to getting thrusted into a larger role.
Back in 2021 with the Minnesota Vikings, an injury to defensive lineman Mike Pierce resulted in Watts playing a career-high 56 percent of the team’s defensive snaps — where he recorded a career-high 5.0 sacks in the process.
Now in New England following the Christian Barmore’s blood clot diagnoses, Watts is ready once again.
“I had to step up and I took advantage of the opportunity,” Watts recalled on Monday. “So I kind of know what it takes to be that next guy up and I’m ready for the challenge.
