Arm injury knocks Patriots' Patrick Chung out of Super Bowl LIII

ATLANTA -- New England Patriots starting safety Patrick Chung was knocked out of Super Bowl LIII with a right arm injury early in the third quarter, with the club announcing that he would not return.

Chung, a 10-year veteran who was elected as a first-time captain in 2018, was writhing in pain on the turf as he was one of multiple defenders who tackled Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley on a 5-yard rush.

A cart was brought out for Chung, but he instead walked to the locker room with an aircast on the injured arm as six-year veteran Duron Harmon came on to replace him.
