In Bruce Arian's estimation, the two most famous athletes to come out of Eastern Illinois University are quite similar.
When Arians, head coach of the Cardinals, scouted the quarterback prospects in the 2014 NFL Draft, he saw a familiar skill set in Jimmy Garoppolo.
"(I) didn't really get into it personally with him, but he reminded me a lot of Tony Romo coming out," Arians said on a conference call Wednesday. "They both were very similar sizes -- arm strength, very accurate, moved around good."
Garoppolo gets the Cardinals on the road in primetime Sunday night, about as difficult as it gets for a first career start.
