FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots and cornerback Aqib Talib departed on good terms following the 2013 season. So much so that Talib had the Patriots on his short list for 2018 if he had the choice of what team he'd be joining.
Aqib Talib wanted to play for Wade Phillips in LA or Bill Belichick in New England; idea of playing elsewhere was not something he found desirable. This helped dictate trade to Rams.
As it turns out, Talib was traded by the Denver Broncos to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick, a move that reunites him with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
