Appeals court sets early February target for NFL vs. Tom Brady arguments

Tom Brady will not miss the Super Bowl due to the ongoing Deflategate saga.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit today allowed a joint request to expedite the appeals process. However, oral arguments “shall be heard as early as the week of February 1, 2016,” according to a court order released today.

The Super Bowl will be played on Feb. 7, 2016. Even if the court hears oral arguments the week of Feb. 1, it would be nearly unprecedented for a federal appeals court to render a decision that quickly.
