Analyzing Bill Belichick's decision to kick off in overtime during Patriots' loss to Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — No, the Patriots weren't confused when they elected to kick off at the beginning of Sunday's overtime.

Bet you were, though.

Unlike Bill Belichick's decision to take the wind in a 2013 overtime victory over Denver, his choice to kick to the Jets Sunday did not pan out. New York marched 80 yards in 2:37, as Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Eric Decker for the game-winning touchdown to lift Gang Green to a 26-20 win.

Naturally, the decision was met with a collective ??????????????? from Pats and Jets fans alike.

"Looking at field position" was Belichick's explanation for the decision.
