Amazon is getting in the game.
The company has scored the streaming rights to the upcoming season of NFL’s Thursday Night Football, EW has confirmed. The one-year deal is for 10 games and worth $50 million, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news.
Available only to Amazon Prime subscribers, the games will be shown on the streaming service, while simultaneously airing on traditional television; being split evenly between NBC and CBS. Last year, Twitter had the streaming rights to Thursday Night Football.
This won’t be Amazon’s first foray into football, having recently ordered a second season of All or Nothing, its docuseries following an NFL team throughout a full season.
