FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- After initially including guard Josh Kline in a trade for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback/safety Eric Rowe on Tuesday, then having that part of the deal fall through, the New England Patriots have told Kline of their intention to release him Wednesday, according to a league source.
The deal for Rowe is still in place, with the Patriots sending a conditional 2018 draft choice to the Eagles. NFL Network reported the pick is a fourth-rounder that could improve to a third-rounder depending on how much Rowe plays over the next two seasons.
