Everson Walls could recall just one time when he wondered if Bill Belichick was out of his mind.
In January of 1991, as the Giants prepared for Super Bowl XXV against the Buffalo Bills’ historically challenging offense and Belichick concocted a defensive game plan that has since been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, there was a particular wrinkle that confounded Walls in a game plan full of wrinkles.
“The only time I ever thought he didn’t have all his screws was when he had me calling the plays in the Super Bowl,” Walls said.
