6 performances of note from the Patriots’ first training camp practice

The New England Patriots ended their summer break with a 90-minute practice on the fields behind Gillette Stadium. While attendance was more perfect than the weather, the start of training camp gave fans their first look at the 2024 team — including its first-round rookie quarterback.

Drake Maye naturally was a player to watch, despite being the second man in the rotation behind current starter Jacoby Brissett. When it comes to the session’s standout performers, though, other players deserve mention.

WR Jalen Reagor: Drake Maye was on one side of the play of the day, but it would not have happened without Reagor showing outstanding concentration and body control: the former first-round draft pick extended beyond his frame to haul the pass in with one catch for a gain of around 50 yards.
