FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Just two weeks into the season and the Miami Dolphins sit alone atop the AFC East.
Led by Raheem Mostert, Tua Tagovailoa and a defense that forced two crucial turnovers, the Dolphins defeated the Patriots, 24-17, Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
The victory puts Miami (2-0) in sole possession of first place in the AFC East. The Bills and Jets are 1-1. The Patriots are 0-2 for the first time since 2001.
The Patriots had a chance to tie the game in the final minute, but the defense held when it stopped Patriots left guard Cole Strange on the Miami 30-yard-line on fourth down.
