The Patriots pass rush was never the same after the team traded Matthew Judon last summer.
The team finished last in the NFL in total sacks (28). On top of that, the Patriots weren’t much better against the run in 2024. They finished the season ranked 23rd in run defense, allowing 131.4 rushing yards per game. The unit allowed 233 rushing yards, which is the most allowed by a Patriots team since 1990.
For those reasons, the team needs to prioritize their defensive line this offseason.
The Patriots hope that Christian Barmore is healthy and back in the fold.
