The final selection in the 2021 New England Patriots draft class is moving on to the next chapter.
Tre Nixon announced his retirement from football on Monday, via Instagram, after spending the past three seasons with the organization that filled out his card in the seventh round.
Handpicked by longtime Patriots football research director Ernie Adams at No. 242 overall, the wide receiver by way of Ole Miss and Central Florida spent his initial two NFL campaigns on the practice squad. After suffering a shoulder injury versus the Green Bay Packers last August, he was waived and reverted to injured reserve for the rest of 2023.
