The New England Patriots entered the third and final day of the 2020 NFL draft with a total of six selections to work with, and the first of them will be used to bolster the team’s special teams units: the Patriots have drafted kicker Justin Rohrwasser with the 159th overall selection in the fifth round.
Rohrwasser, who spent his college career at Marshall becomes the first kicker drafted this year. During his 2019 redshirt senior season, made 18 of 21 field goal attempts and also was successful on 35 of 36 extra points. He becomes the frontrunner to take over the role previously held by Stephen Gostkowski, the team’s all-time leading scorer.
