2015 NFL Draft: Patriots Select Joe Cardona (LS, Navy)

NEPD Editor: James Christensen

If there was ever a draft pick tailor-made for Bill Belichick, it is Joe Cardona. The former high-school lacrosse player is a long-snapper from Navy, where Belichick learned the game from his father.

With Danny Aiken not on the roster anymore, the Patriots had a need for a specialist to join Ryan Allen and Stephen Gostkowski. Cardona snaps the ball at over 41 miles-per-hour, the fastest ever tested. At 6’2″ and 242 pounds, he is a bit undersized covering punts, but is more than willing to take on blockers and returners.
