The New England Patriots have officially poached a player away from the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have declined to match the contract RB Mike Gillislee received from the Patriots, allowing the Pats to sign him.

The Patriots will give up a 5th round pick to the Bills as part of the deal for the restricted free agent. The top 5th round pick the Pats have this year is No. 163 overall, which came via the Broncos.
With Gillislee in town, plus Rex Burkhead, LeGarrette Blount's time in New England might be over.
Gillislee has averaged an impressive 5.7 yards per carry each of the last two years a LeSean McCoy's backup. He had 577 yards and 8 TDs in 2016. With Gillislee gone, Mike Tolbert (who will play FB too) and Jonathan Williams are the top backups.
