The New England Patriots took their visit to the White House today to be honored for winning the Super Bowl.
Several players decided not to attend due to President Trump, and Tom Brady backed out at the last minute due to "some personal family matters.” In total, 34 players attended the White House trip, with 34 others skipping the event.
President Trump praised several members of the team during the visit, calling out Matthew Slater, Marcus Cannon, Trey Flowers, Julian Edelman, Malcolm Mitchell, Danny Amendola, and Nate Ebner for their play during the season.
However, it was Rob Gronkowski who had the most memorable moment of the trip, hilariously crashing the White House press briefing.
