Just hours before Day 2 of the NFL Draft, the New England Patriots have acquire OT Trent Brown and pick #143 overall from the San Francisco 49ers for pick #95 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Brown is 25-years old and played mostly RT for the 49ers in 2017. He graded out very positively in pass-protection by Pro Football Focus and will count for only $705,000 on the cap this season.

There was a rumor yesterday that he could have been moved to the Denver Broncos for a second round pick, but Robert Kraft announced the trade this morning.
The Patriots are clearing making the OL a focus after drafting Georgia G Isaiah Wynn with pick #23 overall in the 1st round. The Patriots are attempting to fill the hole left by Nate Solder, who left the Patriots this offseason to sign a deal with the New York Giants.
For the 49ers, this move is not very surprising after drafting OT Mike McGlinchey from Notre Dame last night with the 9th overall pick. They expect him to take over at right tackle while Joe Staley continues to man the fort at left tackle.
