In this edition of the Patriots Report, we give you our breakout players for 2018 on both offense and defense! Our list includes rookie RB Sony Michael and 4th-year DT Malcolm Brown. We also include newly-signed WR Jordan Matthews and G Joe Thuney.
We also go over two younger players on the Patriots defense in rookie CB Keion Crossen and DE Derek Rivers. Rivers missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL which he suffered in minicamp. It was basically a redshirt year for him, similar to what the Patriots did with fellow DE Trey Flowers. Keion Crossen is a CB the Patriots drafted in the 7th round who instantly becomes the fastest CB on the roster. We believe his ball skills and athleticism will make it difficult to keep him off the field as the season goes on.
