Back on January 22nd, Tom Brady issued a blanket denial of any involvement in the DeflateGate controversy at one of the most hyped-up press conferences of the offseason so far.
Former NFL QB and current ESPN analyst Mark Brunell wasn't buying it, calling Brady a liar while almost crying on live TV.
"Somebody had to do it, and I don’t believe there’s an equipment manager in the NFL who on his own initiative would deflate a ball without his starting quarterback’s approval," Brunell said then. "I just didn’t believe what Tom Brady had to say."
In an email just a few hours later to former Michigan teammate Pat Kratus, Brady denounced Brunell and other critics as "patriot hater(s)."
