The New England Patriots have released tight end Martellus Bennett, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
More Bennett brothers news today: the Patriots are releasing TE Martellus Bennett, per league source.

Bennett originally joined the Patriots on a one-year deal in 2016, catching 55 passes for 701 yards and seven touchdowns while helping them win the Super Bowl. They let him walk in free agency because they didn't want to meet his asking price, and he signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Green Bay Packers.
However, Green Bay waived him in November with the designation of failure to disclose a medical condition, and the Patriots picked him up off waivers.
He only played in two games for New England this past season before being placed on IR, catching six passes for 53 yards.
