In Patriots rumors today, the New England Patriots could be looking to the 2014 NFL Draft to find the heir apparent to Tom Brady at starting quarterback.
So posits NBC on Yahoo Sports in an article on Saturday: "The Patriots might be thinking now about what they’ll do at quarterback when Tom Brady retires. Or they could be trying to light a fire under Brady."
"Or they could be trying to pick the brains of as many quarterbacks as they can, as offensive schemes increasingly migrate from college to the NFL. Whatever the reasons, by the time of the draft in three weeks, it appears that the Patriots will have talked to just about every available quarterback."
The Patriots have had pre-draft visits with Teddy Bridgwater, Johnny Manziel, and Zach Mettenberger amongst others, and have been rumored by many NFL analysts to be searching for a young quarterback to learn under Brady's tutelage for a future starting role.
Whether or not the 2014 NFL Draft is where they choose to find that guy is up for speculation.
