The New England Patriots are riding high coming off their fourth Super Bowl victory in franchise history, but knowing Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, they're already focusing on trying to repeat next year. Who are they looking at in free agency to help improve their roster?
RB C.J. Spiller
Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen are both free agents that could see good paydays elsewhere, and the Patriots could find better, cheaper options on the open market. Spiller has flashed his immense talent on the field, but he's been hampered by injuries throughout his time in Buffalo. New England could get him on a team-friendly deal because of that, setting up a lightning-and-thunder type duo with LeGarrette Blount. That would also mean he wouldn't have to run between that tackles as much and take the punishment he's used to, which could help keep him healthy.
LB/DL Pernell McPhee
McPhee is excellent rushing the passer - shown by his 7.5 sacks in 2014 - and would give them another weapon up the middle. At. 6'3" and 280 pounds, he has versatility Belichick loves and would clear up space for Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich to make plays. The downside is that he won't come cheap, but his versatility and stealing him from the Ravens could make it worth it.
CB Brandon Flowers
Darrelle Revis is set to hit the free agent market, and while the Patriots are doing all they to keep him in New England, he does have plenty of suitors that will throw a lot of money at him. If Revis does leave town, Flowers has the potential to step in and immediately fill his role as well as anyone can.
