The New England Patriots won't be the only AFC East team negotiating with star cornerback Darrelle Revis in free agency this offseason if the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills have anything to say about it.
The Jets are expected to pursue Revis to bring him back for a return engagement in New York, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Jets have reportedly been hard at work coming up with a battle plan for making a run at Revis.
To add to the intrigue, former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, who was disappointed when the Jets didn't bring Revis back last year, is also planning to try and woo Revis to his new team, the Buffalo Bills.
The Patriots would very much like to keep Revis in the fold, yet they're still unlikely to exercise his $20 million option for 2015, virtually ensuring that he'll be a free agent come March 10th.
Tampering charges have already been filed against the Jets due to comments that team owner Woody Johnson made in December about Revis, and the NFL is continuing to look in the matter, per sources cited by Schefter.
Stay tuned.
