The New England Patriots have fans all over the country (and the world), but the contingent that took over both Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego and the surrounding bars before Sunday night's 23-14 victory over the Chargers was something else.
Per Ivan Carter of the Boston Globe, "in the days leading up the game, Patriots fans took over several popular establishments, including the Tipsy Crow in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego and several hot spots in the Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach party areas."
Come Sunday, countless Pats fans could be spotted in assorted Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski jerseys in the trolleys shuttling fans to and from Qualcomm Stadium. On NBC's Sunday Night Football, those same fans were unmistakably loud and boisterous in support of the road team.
All of that contributed to a feeling like the upcoming Holiday Bowl at the same stadium - an almost neutral-site clash that could be very well pointed at if the Chargers decide to pack their bags for Los Angeles in 2015.
