Back for a second go-around with the New England Patriots, oft-troubled running back LeGarrette Blount is ecstatic to working for Bill Belichick again.
He's also humbled by the fact that a coach he trusts so much reciprocated that trust enough to bring him back into the fold.
“It means a lot,” Blount said, via the Boston Herald and NBC's Pro Football Talk. “Bill is a straightforward shooter. He’s a 100 percent honest person. I truly believe that if I do what I have to do, I’ll make myself a role on this team. Whatever I have to do, I’m going to do it to be productive. I’m going to stay ready, and whenever they call me to carry the ball, I’m going to go out there and do whatever I can to do to make them comfortable with the decision to bring me back.”
All in all, it was a wild and emotionally-charged road for Blount that led him back to the Patriots.
“I’m just happy and excited to be back now,” Blount said. “As you all can see, I’m kind of flustered and at a loss of words, but I’m excited to be back now. It’s going to be fun.”
